I decided today to skip out on my regular post and add a rambling post sense something odd and totally unexpected happened to me today that has not really happened to me before. Well not on this level. This may not be for the squeamish and I will not give out the restaurants name as they were really nice about the situation. You always hear about it, but this was something that I have never really experienced till today.
I had just picked my daughter and her mother up to take them shopping at Toysrus an to go have a meal sense my daughter got a good report in school today (which for the last few times she has had a bad report). So we decided to reward her. She is only 3 and in preschool. So after we got done shopping we went to a restaurant that was close by to eat. I have never at here, so I though it might be a good place to try. It is one of those Steak and Grill chains sorta like Outback I guess. We ordered are food and I decided to get a Steak Sandwich. The first few bites was great. Then..
I was in the middle of chewing a bite of food when I started chewing on something that definitely was not steak. Okay I though maybe it;s gristle or something so I took took it out of my mouth to find something that looked like a finger nail. I though “Nah” can’t be a fingernail. What kinda place would actually make the mistake of putting a almost WHOLE fingernail in my food. Was kinda broken off but a pertty big size. BLAH.
Sure enough after some further inspection I determined that is what it was. So in A nice way I asked the waitress to have a look cause I was unsure if that is what is was, and after she saw it she ran to get the manager. A nice little talk with the manager and a lot of apologizing and a free meal and lots of other free offers we were on our way out the door. The manager was nice about the whole deal. I know I could have made a big scene about it, but I didn’t see the need. Not like it happened everyday. I was insured that the problem would be investigated and all that good stuff. It could have not even been there fault, I’m sure if someone in the kitchen lost a fingernail they might would know. Could have been from anywhere, like the products seller.
Not sure if I will eat there again. Maybe. For the most part the food and service was good, but I’m sure that particular incident might make me change my mind about eating there again. It’s really odd to have something like that in your food. Almost makes your stomach want to turn, but hey I watch enough Bizarre Foods on the Travel Channel. The only other case I have had with a restaurant was a Yellow Jacket in my Tea. Now that would have been bad to shallow.

I would say that is a lot worse than getting a hair in your food. People do all sorts of funny things with their fingers.

Wow, that is definitely something you don’t see in your food on a daily basis!
However, I think you handled the situation well by not blowing up and causing a big scene. Plus, if it wouldn’t have happened you wouldn’t have had this nice rambling post
