First Month Review - January 2008

January 31st, 2008 Posted in Stats

342921_27350479.jpgOne month has finally gone by sense I launched Blogtomic. I have been working hard on the site, in the middle of the month I did a redesign and sense then I have added some new features and been keeping up with gathering ideas to write about and making some good friends and contacts along the way. One month seems like forever when you are working on building a reader base and a good source of traffic. I have hit a few bumps here an there in the first month and hope to weed out a few things. Overall it has been a good month. My Alexa and Traffic are where I would have liked them to have been, Google I can not say the same for as for some reason Google keeps ignoring to index this name for some reason. It was previously owned and I am wondering if that may have something to do with it, sense that is one of the only reasons I can think of not being indexed yet.

Lets take a look at this months stats:
Alexa: 395,793
Technorati: 175,905
Number of visits: 6,157
Number of hits: 124,936
Best Day Ever: 749 — Friday, Jan. 25
Inbound Links: 429
RSS Subscribers: 29
Email Subscribers: 9
Number of post: 31

I think the stats for the site are doing really good with around 200-500 visitors per day with 3,331 unique visitors and 6,157 total visitors and 39,079 page views. This is way more than I had expected and I think for the first month the numbers are not to bad.

Blogtomic Earnings for Jan. 2008:
The numbers are not as impressive as I would like, but it’s a start and better than nothing at all. My goal is to reach at-least $650 a month and seems like a big goal, but this will at-least cover my monthly rent, and have nice things for my daughter, I would much rather this than buying fancy cars and big houses all that can come later in life. I’m hoping Feb. will be a little better than this month. I feel it was a little shorter than my goal was. So lets take a look at those numbers stall we.

Total Blog Income for January 2008: $33.52
January 2008 Report

In Febuary I hope these amounts increase some. Starting is always the hard part. I have a few good post planed and we shall see how the second month does. So stay tuned.

News and New stuff on Blogtomic:

Entrecard Dropper:
My top Entrecard Droppers for the month: Toast & Egg & Me.

I decided I would give a little prize to the number one dropper on the month. I have given Toast & Egg & Me a place in my new Icon Ad slot for a month or two. Don’t forget you can have your icon here for only $2 a month, it’s a none expensive and catchy way to advertise on Blogtomic.

16×16 Icon Ads.iconad.gif
I added a new type of advertising for the site. A 16×16 Icon Ad. The spots are $2 a month each. If you are interested in a space feel free to send me an email with your information and icon. Payments can be made though paypal at admin@blogtomic.com. Get your spot today as the spots are a 1st come 1st served basis. Thanks to Thatblogsite for buying the 1st one.

Lower Ad Sales & Ad Special
I lowered the advertising price for the site in hopes that there might be an increase in sales. I’m never sure on how to price these things and I decided to take a look a some other equal blogs and get and idea of prices. Feel free to contact me if you would like a spot. From Feb. 1 to Feb. 14th I will hold a special Valentines day offer. Buy 1 month and gets one free. This will be a first come first serve bases. All you have to do is send me a email with the title Valentine AD Special.

Help me buy a plane ticket, not beer.planeticket.gif
If you have been reading the site you may have noticed the “Help me buy a plane ticket.” at the bottom of my post. I modified the “Buy me beer” Wordpress Plugin so that anyone willing to help me and my daughter out with buying our $700 ticket to fly home to SC can donate. Tickets are not cheap and I sometimes wonder why it’s full price for a 3 year old to fly, just another way for “the company” to rip us off. We are hoping to go down in Feb. or Mar. and it would be great to get the money so that my daughter could see her other grandparents. Feel free to donate as much or as little as you prefer. I would rather someone “Help me buy a plane ticket” than “buy me a beer” at-least it the money will be a better reason than a beer I will drink in 5 mins.

AdToll
Advertise on my Adtoll for only $0.50 per week. Another cost efficient way to advertise on Blogging4csah.Thanks for reading. If you have not already sign up for my RSS feed and drop me a comment or note to let me know you stopped by. I always like hearing from my readers. Till next time. Have a great month.

    Hi Jason,

I have been following your blog for the past weeks and think you are doing a great job, keep it up!

One thing in your post caught my attention specifically,… you mention you are still not indexed by google and I think you´d better contact them about this issue, because if you check your “Genuine Site Rank” it looks like google has your domain banned.

Good luck to you and I hope you get it sorted out!

hope you can sort it with them!

    Jason,

Nice work promoting your site. As a new in the industry, I’m wondering what promotional techniques you use for your blog? Trade secret?
    :)

    Cheers.

Well ad I am dealing with the Ban situation I cannot say I generate anything from google, expt for adwords. So most traffic is stumbleupon, entrecard and links from other sites.

    Hi Jason,
just checking in to see how you are doing with the ban situation… hope you sort it out soon!

Definitely some good stats in such a short time. I was going to do a monthly report for January, but I decided to hold off until my February reports because my income would have double, hopefully lol…

But keep going with the private ads and paid reviews, you’ll get a good chunk of change for that!
