A neat little program came to my attention that is worth checking out and trying. I did not find this program on my own, but got the link from David over at Generalmarketingblog the other day when I asked him how he commented on my blog so quickly when I just posted. The answer – Comment Sniper. This is a great programs that every blogger should have on there computer. Comment Sniper lets you know when a blog you like makes a new post so you can comment on the post quickly. This is great if you want to be on top of all of your favorite blogs, or A-list bloggers.
Commenting is a good way to draw traffic to your blog and if you are the first to comment you are more likely to be seen more than if you are a few comments down the list. I would suggest though that you do not use this as a SPAM TOOL, this is not what the software is for, but a way to monitor and keep up to date with your regular rss subscribed blogs. So be sure to post quality comments like you would any other time. Comment Sniper is not a RSS reader, but works quicker and in real-time as most RSS feeds are delayed to some amount of time, this is where comment sniper really comes in handy.
I looked around for a few other programs that were similar but could not find any that worked as well or were free. Comment Sniper is free and the download is the full version not a trial or test.
From the site:
“Comment Sniper offers you a way to build targeted, valuable, strong and lasting traffic to your website at no cost, by tapping into the first mover advantage of blog comment posting. And… now, for a limited time only, you can download this $47 fully functional application Completely FREE with no strings attached.”
How to use it:
There is a guide on the Comment Sniper site that can walk you though more details.
The first thing to do is go and Download the software and install it.

Once done you can start adding blogs by going to the “Blog Manage” Tab. It has a few options like if the blog is on Blogger, Wordpress, Live Spaces, or other. With the first three you only have to give and ID and the Blogs name on the service.

The Other option is for regular blogs and you will need to add the URL, RSS and select the Title Tags. Once done you it will be added to your monitoring list.

Then you can go back to the main screen and hit Start and you will be monitoring the sites on your list and be notified when a new post is made.
Other Options:
Search – You are able to search blogs on different networks using terms to find a blog that interest you and the option to subscribe to the ones on blog services like blogger and wordpress. The search gives you the URL, Page Ranks and Alexa.
Notification – You can set up the notifications to just notify you from your desktop or my SMS and Skype so you can keep updated with new post even when you are away from your computer.
For more information on Comment Sniper and Download information you can go to Commentsniper.com and get the full version for free.

Hmm…seems more like a spam program to me.
I’m not sure why I would need to respond quickly to a post. Normally I just read my RSS when I get time. I don’t need my cellphone buzzing at me to let me know someone has made a post.
It seems you have use for it though, so it’s good for you.
Thanks for the share.

unTECHy a good reason i use this program is it means i dont need to recieve lots of emails to see what my favourite blogs have posted.
This program means i know every time my favs post and i will read and if i like the post i will leave a good response.
I recieve hundreds of notifacations a day but might only respond to 4 or 5 of them.
I dont always find out until a few hours after the post as i turn the program off and every few hours i will turn it on and recieve the new posts that have been made whilst it was turned off.
